Trying out the forms found in sketching, I realized quickly that moving around the roast chamber would be an issue, and only possible with two hands.
Adding an indent, I hypothesized that it would be easier to move. I chamfered the bottom edge in an attempt to see how a base might interact with a chamber.
By decreasing the diameter at the groove, I sought to increase the maneuverability of the chamber in order-to ease the removal of the coffee beans, post-roast.
By putting the dial on the bottom, the user would be less likely to block any information on the base. That being said, the diameter in the center was still too large.
To see how the center of gravity would be affected, I moved the groove higher up in order to change the position of the users hand.
Returning the groove lower in the form, decreasing it's diameter, removing the dial entirely, and adding preset buttons, I had found a form that was both convenient and home-focused.
